Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, he concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
