Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is not yet known and the US has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some property damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
