Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
